It’s Episode 59! I've been keeping myself busy this week, putting the finishing touches on my social media workshop here in town and checking out the GALA arts and music festival at my favorite farm. Scene Mom Says: Support Life and Music- Interview with Jack Mangan
Thursday Apr 17, 2025
Thursday Apr 17, 2025
Time: ~35 min.
It’s Episode 55! This week I’m doing something a little different. Since I’m out of town this week the show is just an interview, no music or regular segments. I interviewed my longtime friend Jack Mangan. I've known Jack for over 20 years, and he just launched an incredible new nonprofit called SLAM—Support Life and Music.
In our conversation, Jack shared his journey from musician and podcaster to industry advocate, and how he realized there was a real need for support in the music community. We talked about everything from how tough it is to make a living in music, to how SLAM is building programs like online support groups and informative panels to help musicians feel less alone. It was such an inspiring chat, please follow SLAM on all the socials and help spread the word!
